HRM and Employee Shift Management

Human resource management must focus on employee's shift time which should fulfil client expectations. Nowadays business industry works more hours than fixed time to cover all the work. HRM should provide needed facility to employees on shift start time, need to keep record of attendance and also need to keep record of employee's shift start time and finish time.

HRM can change 200 employees shift time from morning 9.30 am to 6.30 pm and evening 6.30 pm to 3.30 am based on seat availability. Working with a shift like this will help to reduce from 200 seats space to 100 seats space for the company. This will make efficient work process inside the company, solve employee issues and retain employees longer period in the company with less employee turnover.

HRM need to keep the company work 24/7 and has to decide how many employees need for the company this will help the company to run the process smoothly wit efficiently. Rather than focusing on work overtime and expect money for the overtime, HRM can suggest employees to be more productive within the shift time. Leave plan of employees should handle well by HRM since if leave plans handled strategically backlog will reduce and accuracy level will have no issues. HRM need to have strategies like having another employee to cover the work if one employee is absent.

HRM can use software to create shift time and keep record of shift times rather than using papers. Using software will reduce cost of the process and also finish the work quickly. HR employee shift management will help the company as follows,

  • Helps to fix the right number of employees for the project.
  • Helps to keep records of in and out time of employees.
  • Helps to capture project start and finish date.
  • Helps to capture timeline of the daily work.

HRM can create strategies regarding the employee shift management and reduce spending more money and time. Through innovative ideas HRM can manage workload of employees with less employee turnover which helps to run the business efficiently and effectively.

  3. Agree. It is important that employees are not overworked which could violate work life balance in the workforce. Therefore, it would be better to come up with flexi working hours which could also enhance the productivity level of the employees.
